OAK LEAF TABLE

The table is a permanent and important feature in any home. This project explored past dining styles looking at a la francaise and the change to a la russe. The use of oak material and oak leaf imagery is to reflect the simplicity of the Arts and Crafts Movement style but the scattering of leaves in a panel that can be removed and tucked away to make a smaller table represented the busyness of flora found at a la russe feasts during the 1700-1800s. The dining table was designed to fit into any home, being able to expand when more space is needed. It can be used for both dining and work purposes within the home and through an exciting design encourages the family to use it for all occasions.
